Carving a Prolific Path for Business Aspirants- Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance


It is a known fact that the Banking and Finance of the country is a growing sector where there is a vast need of skilled candidates and in order to fulfill this need, Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance (SSBF) was established with a vision of promoting international understanding through quality education. Commenced under Symbiosis International (Deemed University), owing to the excellence and quality demonstrated by SSBF it has been re-accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade (3.58/4). SSBF welcomes the application of the students for its program – MBA (Banking and Finance) that has been prepared to provide the necessary education and skill-sets to equip students to innovate, manage, lead and take on the challenges of this increasingly complex and dynamic sector.

The institute has put ample efforts for bringing in internationalization in the program by motivating the students to go for a student exchange program, inviting international guest speakers and so on. Recently, four students from the batch 2016-18 were selected for the Semester Exchange program at Macquarie University, Australia. Side by side, making an attempt of developing well-round personalities, the Institute stresses on industry-academia interface. In this regard, the institute has signed an MOU with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for the content development of the Certificate and Diploma Programme in Banking and Finance under their National University Students’ Skill Development (NUSSD) program. The institute also has collaboration with Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank and so on for carrying out varied initiatives in the alignment of the betterment of the graduates of SSBF. At SSBF, the faculty members believe in taking education beyond academics through induction and outbound program.

Besides this, throughout the academic year, the institute organizes various initiatives and events that positively help in enhancing the students’ overall experience. This experience is further enriched by motivating the students to self-study via Knowledge assimilation groups (KAG) – the engine to provide opportunities to enhance knowledge and attain practical readiness for the corporate world of banking and finance along with establishing study circles which focuses on guiding the students for certifications and professional examinations like GARP (FRM), CFA and NISM, to name a few. The students of SSBF also gets an edge by obtaining financial assistance through the different Symbiosis International University Scholarships and Awards that are mostly based on merit and sports. Moreover, the students of SSBF are awarded the industry-sponsored scholarship, for which the institute has signed MoU with CRIF High Mark, a leading credit information company providing credit scores and credit reports in India on individuals and companies.
