Having struggled himself during his educational life on the terms of adequate facilities a student requires, Sri Nallamilli Sesha Reddy was always zealous in serving productively to improve the educational scenario of the country. Started his career as a lecturer, it was in the year 1984 when Sri Nallamilli Sesha Reddy with a vision and mission to create a platform for holistic growth and success to students at all levels (i.e. from KG to PG) laid the founding stone of Aditya Academy at Kakinada. Witnessing a burgeoning growth over the years, today this establishment runs 60+ Institutions with 6000+ employees and 60,000+ students. Commenced in 2001 under the umbrella of Aditya Academy, Aditya Engineering College (AEC) is one such institution that has been producing responsible and efficient engineers since its inception.

An autonomous institute, AEC prides on imparting quality education to its students along with the promise of granting a fruitful campus experience. “Taking into consideration, the evolving role of the campus facility in intensifying the overall experience of a student, we at AEC have incorporated state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure under one roof,” shares N. Satish Reddy, Vice-Chairman, AEC. Spread over a pollution free environment, the campus of AEC is equipped with facilities such as Bank, ATMs, Refreshment stalls, Canteens, separate hostels for boys and girls, an exclusive library with the digital and multimedia facility, spacious playgrounds, indoor stadium, laboratories and so on. The institute leaves no stone unturned in ensuring the holistic development of the students giving equal priority to factors like academic excellence, fostering values, creating civic responsibility and building global competencies in a dynamic environment.

T-Shaped – Engineering Program

Offering UG, PG and Diploma programs in varied branches of engineering viz. Petroleum, Agricultural, Mining, Civil, EEE, Mechanical, ECE, CSE and IT, AEC have launched the unique T-shaped – Engineering Program. Sri Reddy elaborates, The Global industry is constantly in search of candidates who are technically sound, possess innovative ideas and are able to face challenges.  Given this fact, AEC conduct the T-shaped – Engineering Program- a one-of-its-kind integrated program which is designed, developed and managed by experienced IT experts and imparted in alignment with the regular four years of engineering academics. Here AEC invite the industry stalwarts from CMM level 5 software industries to offer special training followed by fulfilling the immediate needs of the employers.”

The students at AEC are immensely encouraged to participate in work-based learning and academic learning leading them to emerge as a productive workforce for the industry. Additionally, through introducing Living-Learning Model, the qualified and talented faculty members of the institute put explicit stress on cultivating a multiplied supportive academic atmosphere. AEC make sure that its every student becomes ample skilled both practically and theoretically by the end of their courses. Going the extra mile, via the AEC’s Campus Recruitment Training (CRT), AEC students are groomed to pave a way towards dignified professional life. An exclusive AEC’s CRT team of 30 faculty members works on the thrust areas like reasoning, aptitude, soft skills, technical skills and so on, of the future engineers. CRT is an integral part of the syllabus right from the first year of the course. Such robust training along with the pre-placement training conducted by the institute before starting the placement drives annually attracts prestigious recruiters such as Capgemini, CGI, Think And Learn, Amazon, Genpact and many more to recruit the students of AEC.

Strong Industry Connection

Holding and carrying the legacy of Aditya Group, AEC stands out among other institutes considerably by enjoying a cordial relationship with the industry and eminent institutions. AEC have entered MOUs with Co-Cubes and AMCAT as its CRT assessment partners, on account of which the students go almost 50 assessments in 7 semesters followed by two typical pre-assessments enabling them to gain enough confidence to excel in the campus drives. The institute also has signed MOU with the foreign Universities, namely- University of IOWA, USA, International Technological University, USA, Swansea Metropolitan, UK and Thomson Reverse University, Canada for providing global exposure to the students,” claims Sri Reddy. On the other side, as now a day’s research and innovation is referred to as the two sides of a coin, the institute has given sizeable importance to both.  AEC has recognized as research centre by JNTUK, Kakinada and got first prize from AICTE at all India Level in Water and Irrigation research category, shares Sri Reddy.

The dedicated R &D cell of AEC operates under separate directors for motivating both the faculty members and students to undertake research activities throughout the year. From rendering incentives to the faculty for publishing papers in National/International journals to arranging guest lectures on how to publish technical papers for students, the institute makes it a point to uplift the research quotient. “The AEC campus is endowed with Aditya Global Incubation Centre (GBI) which looks after boosting the habit of entrepreneurship among the students. Notably, the Department of Science and Technology under Technology Development Board has sanctioned Rs. 100 lakhs per annum for development of incubation center at AEC for a period of 5 years. Some of the successful student’s start-ups include Get My Tailor, Get My Books, Higher Pappy, Glossy Trends and so on,” shares Sri Reddy. Currently, an autonomous institute, AEC in near future aspires to achieve and earn the Deemed University status.
