For continuous TLP quality improvement, senior members of IQAC consisting of Director, Principal,VP, Dean, and concerned HoD are entrusted with the responsibility of carrying out the academic audit of the faculty members with regard to their capabilities, preparation and performance. The academic audit is structured in a systematic and scientific way to review the academic system for improvement of quality. It is a faculty-driven model of ongoing self-reflection (introspection), peer feedback, collaboration, and teamwork based on structured conversation to continuously improve quality in teaching and learning. RNSIT boasts of well qualified and dedicated faculty comprising 54 Doctorates, 68 Ph.D. scholars, and 109 post graduates from various Indian universities with different domain expertise. Currently, the institute offers the following undergraduate courses: B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), B.E. in Computer Science Engineering (CSE), B.E. in Information Science & Engineering (ISE), B.E. in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (EIE), B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (ME), B.E. in Civil Engineering (CIVIL) along with post graduate courses: M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, M.Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Along the same lines, RNSIT has six VTU recognized research centers for M.Sc. (Res)/Ph.D.

The industrial and IT activities in Bangalore has provided an opportunity for the students of RNSIT to carry out their projects by utilizing latest technologies. The staff and students are able to incubate and disseminate their innovations and ideas in the current research areas at HEIs such as IISc, IIITB, IIM, etc. Furthermore, the metropolitan city also provides internships opportunities at NAL, HAL, DRDO, ISRO, LRDE, GTRE, Honeywell, and in some of the big names in software technology. RNSIT has established student chapters such as IEEE, ISOI, ISA, CSI, ISTE, IETE, etc. under various Departments, thus encouraging students to showcase a variety of academic activities such as techno quiz, paper presentation, circuit debugging, technical debates, group discussions, student seminars, and workshops. Within classrooms, the faculty spurs the students, by way of projects, covering study materials beyond syllabus, exposing students in subjects that do not have lab support in the curriculum, along with the policy of incubating Center of Excellence and continuous thrust to identification of latest/emerging areas, to enhance their existing skill set. This results not only help students to extend their knowledge horizon, but also instills in them confidence to take over any role, no matter what the challenges.
RNSIT uses a judicious mix of virtual laboratories, e-learning and open educational resources. Video and animation enhancements are sourced from national and international sources and are used to illustrate the various concepts and abstracts involved. Extensive use of GUI simulators such as NS2 / NS3, LabVIEW, MultiSIM, etc by the faculty members has helped the students in better understanding and visualization of the different concepts in laboratory & project work. Periodic counseling by the placement officer and senior faculty members regarding higher studies and placement (with career advancement) for different branches has resulted in very good conversion rate in placement, securing high percentile scores in GATE/CAT/GRE exams and every year around 20-30% of students enrolling for higher studies in India and at renowned Institutions across the Globe. A testament to this teaching methodology is that RNSIT has been welcoming corporate giants like Siemens, Wipro, Infosys, Sapient, L&T, Reliance infocom, Keane software, General motors, HP, Bosch, Cerner healthcare solutions Pvt.
