A vital member of the Al-Ameen Educational Society, Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy was founded in the year 1983 and since then has been striving on the objective of providing the best possible pharmaceutical education, where the teaching is headed by a highly knowledgeable faculty. Currently offering courses such as D.Pharm, B.Pharm, Pharm-D, Pharm-D (PB), M.Pharm & PhD in various specialties, Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy is located in the heart of Bengaluru city. The institute also hosts varied research activities in the existing departments like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacy Practice & Quality Assurance. 

We are currently motivating in conducting of advanced research projects on our campus including 

Synthesis of newer drugs, Isolation of newer compounds from plants, method development of various drugs, Advanced drug delivery systems, nanoparticle drug targeting approaches, novel delivery platforms, screening of drugs for the treatment of acute & chronic ailments and many more”, shares Dr. Md Salahuddin, the Principal of the college. Adding to his above statement, Dr. Salahuddin stated – “Students of AACP are given the liberty & belief in Innovation, Leadership, Excellence, Integrity, Respect and Professionalism”. Through the conversation with the Principal we also learnt that the college has the best-recognized researchers and teachers, and the brightest students from all over the country and world, thus, always ensuring that AACP continues on the list of top-pharmacy colleges of India. 

Providing an extremely competitive environment for people to explore beyond the 4 walls of their classrooms towards becoming industry ready Pharma Experts, every department at Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy is dedicated to collaborating with industry for its PG students. “In the past, we have carried out revenue generating research projects with Pharmaceutical companies like Navitas Life Sciences Pvt Ltd and Wipro Cosmetics Division, where most of the time these projects facilitate a two-way utilization of resources”, continued Dr. Salahuddin. Additionally, the college provides training for competitive entrance exams such as GPAT, NIPER, and BITS, and pushes its students towards taking up mock interviews in various job fields during industry orientation programs and soft skill development programs. Also, all thanks to the impressive industry-connections of Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy, regular guest lectures & workshops on topics that are essential for students to acclimatize to various job opportunities. The placement cell of the college has signed MoU with leading pharma training institutes for regular training sessions for the students. 

AACP is dedicated to securing the career of its outgoing students. The placement cell of AACP is committed to developing dynamism, strong human values, technocratic & good leadership qualities in the students. The institute prepares a strategy for its students for training & placement with the primary aim to find a suitable & lucrative job in reputed Pharma companies. “We follow a systemic approach every year with the outgoing students before facing recruitment challenges. All the outgoing students will be provided training in the respective pharma domains for better exposure in the ever-demanding competition. Every year training programs are conducted focusing mainly on enhancing Soft skills, Interview facing confidence & Orientation on Pharma Industry Challenges. For the final year students, our placement cell conducts pre-placement programs and industrial orientation programs for making our outgoing students fit for industry technically as well as mentally,” says Dr. Salahuddin.

Finally, as the role of today’s pharmacists expands beyond the counter and takes its place in the changing landscape of healthcare, the question arises: How well are pharmacy schools meeting their responsibility to prepare the next generation of pharmacists for the latest trends in the profession and industry? Pharmacy education in India needs to be at par with global standards, where students armed with all required expertise can grow up the career ladder. This can be achieved only if industry and academia come on a single platform for a better tomorrow. “Developing more studio classrooms and working more on e-content, we are currently planning to make our graduates more ready for the industry by blending academic curriculum and emphasizing more on creativity and innovation,” concludes Dr. Salahuddin.
