And when we asked what is expected of a lawyer today, and how CAIL fulfills it? Elaborating on this point, he added – “Village Sustainable Development Programme, Legal Services Clinic, Tribal Socio-Legal Research and NSS camps are initiated at CAIL to provide service to society without bias, to instill the idea of social and civic responsibility in young minds and to address the intellectual and educational needs of the society thus driving towards national integration and social harmony”. Through the conversation with Fr. Davis, he also spoke about how at CAIL, students receive specialized coaching to improve their legal drafting skills, and, how the college stands out for its annual organization of Intra Collegiate, Inter Collegiate and National Moot Court competitions, which provide ample exposure to the students and help them develop their mooting skills. 

Also, pertaining to today’s time where the lawyers are expected to stay up-to-date with the changing times, CAIL offers a technologically advanced environment to its students through access to online journals such as Manupatra, Jstor, West Law, and Bar and Bench as well as the British Library. To ensure that the faculty members remain up-to-date and engaged in ongoing learning, it is mandatory for them to attend at least one National/International conference or FDP every semester. The college offers various academic opportunities to students, such as Nyaya Lekhani- CAIL student law review, Nyayavani – the voice of justice, the biannual newsletter, and Janajathi Vartha – an annual journal, to engage in research and publication. In addition, the college has already made a significant mark in the field of publication, with its faculty members authoring 50 books on law and non-law subjects within a short span of 5 years. Two of these books have also been translated into Kannada. Internship and Placements

At CAIL, the Internship and Placement Committee strives to provide students with comprehensive training and preparation for a successful career in law. The college follows a structured internship program, where students are required to complete an internship every semester.
