CUET UG 2022: Students list CUET problems they are facing

0

Ever since the CUET UG 2022 admit cards were issued, panic has steadily risen among students due to the lack of preparation time and the lack of knowledge of their exam centres. CUET will be held for the first time ever from July 15 to August 20 and the city intimation slips were issued on Monday.

“On Monday, only our admit cards came. Many of us have been given three days to prepare for the most important examination of our life,” said Himanshu (16), a Common University Entrance Test (CUET) aspirant, as per PTI.

PROBLEM REGARDING EXAM CENTRES

The main issue with the city intimation slip is that the they only mentioned the city name and not that of the exact exam centre location.

“It is written on the website that the examination city can also be changed in case of a large number of students. There is a lot of uncertainty,” Himanshu said.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) officials said that this should not be a cause of worry.

“Advance intimation slips for the examination city to all candidates with the date of the examination and the city of the examination are being issued,” said a senior NTA official to PTI.

“The City Intimation Slip for each candidate has information relating to the subjects, language and medium offered in Slot 1 and Slot 2 as well as the date and the city allotted,” the official added.

“The admit card of the first phase, showing the details of the examination centre, have been available for download from 6 pm on July 12,” he added.

It needs to be noted that the CUET admit card was released only in the wee hours of July 12 and not at 6 pm as the official notification had stated.

DATESHEET PROBLEMS

Some students are unhappy with the CUET datesheet as they have all of their papers on the same day or the first few days of the exam.

They feel this is an “unfair” advantage for others who will get both more time to prepare and also get an idea about the exam pattern.

UGC Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar had said on Monday that at least 98 percent candidates appearing for the CUET will be allotted the exam centres in the cities of their choice.
