Quality Education for all
Deeksha High School was founded in 2008 in Sakalavara, off Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore, a small village that then had just a few houses and a government school. Dr.T.V.Ramakrishna & Mrs.Vijayalakshmi Ramakrishna founded Sahasradeepika International for Education in 1998 amidst predominantly agriculture-based rural surroundings with the sole aim of nurturing the children with warmth, all comfort & care so that they are empowered to be useful citizens. As everyone knows, food & shelter alone cannot make a complete person. Quality education is essential for their own betterment and contribution to society at large.
With this in mind, Dr.Ramakrishna approached Dr.G.Sridhar, Founder of ACE Creative Learning Pvt Ltd. and Deeksha Centre for Learning PU College to extend his expertise in the field of education. In 2008 Dr.Ramakrishna and Dr.Sridhar came together and thus was born Deeksha High School.

The growth of Deeksha High School towards providing academic excellence has been tremendous. Within a span of a decade the school strength has increased from 19 to 600. The school has achieved 100% pass percentage in Std X Board Examination every year, since its inception.
The Learning Trident
Deeksha’s teaching-learning approach is greatly influenced by the emphasis on the learning Trident. A 3-way interaction between the student, parent and the teacher is given extra focus for maximizing the benefits of schooling. The school seeks to provide a framework within which teachers and the school can choose and plan experiences that they think children should have. In order to promote educational objectives the right way, the curriculum at the school is conceptualized as a structure that articulates the required experiences. Teachers also discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students’ learning. Factors that can affect students’ learning are also the focus of parent-teacher conferences. Parents are also taken on one-to-one meeting, if there is a need. Monthly Updates on Curricular and Co-curricular activities are shared with the parents through SMS, Circulars and Emails.

A holistic campus life
At Deeksha, the faculty and the management know and understand that the main source of learning for a child is observation and experiential learning. The faculty members at the school are a group of strong academicians who are role models for the children. Student assessments are based on complete behavior and attitude of the student, rather than just focusing on the grade content. No stone is left unturned to make our children socially responsible. To cite a few, events like “Joy of Giving” – voluntary contributions in kind by the students for home for under-privileged and honoring policemen for their selfless service on National Police Day are organized.
Interschool competitions
Students are motivated to participate in sports and cultural competitions. In the CBSE Inter-school Athletic meet, our students won prizes at the state level and have even reached the national level. They have bagged medals in State level Taekwondo competition. Be it, Debate, Dance, Documentary making, handwriting, creative writing, and PowerPoint Presentation our students have brought laurels to the school. All festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Ramzan, Onam, Dasara, Deepavali, and Christmas are celebrated highlighting the significance of these festivals. Celebration of World Environment Day, International Yoga Day, National and state festivals are a regular annual feature. Apart from academics, the student gains a wide exposure that results in his holistic development.

Mrs. Syamala Dhandapani, Operations Head
Mrs. Syamala Dhandapani, our Correspondent has been associated with the school and heading it ever since its inception. With Honours in Mathematics and a Post Graduation in Education, she has been an educator for more than four decades. She is committed to building up the Institution on the ideals of ethics and integrity. She metamorphoses children from less competent to a confident student.
At present Mrs. Syamala Dhandapani, as a guide and mentor oversees all the operations in Deeksha High School.
