Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education in a Nutshell
Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education, located in Kariavattom, Thiruvananthapuram, was established on August 17, 1985, by the Government of India. It is a tribute to the courageous spirit of Lakshmibai, Rani of Jhansi, who played a pivotal role in the First War of Independence. The college, an extension of Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education in Gwalior (now LNIPE), is dedicated to the promotion of Physical Education and sports in the country. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies, aiming to set a high standard for teacher-training. Affiliated with the University of Kerala, the college also hosts centers of excellence and sports training programs. Nestled in a serene environment with coconut and cashew plantations, it provides a tranquil setting for physical and mental well-being.
Knowing Dr. G Kishore
Originating from the quaint town of Pandalam in Kerala, Dr. Kishore boasts an impressive academic record, having earned PG, M.Phil, and a Ph.D. in Physical Education from LNIPE, Gwalior. In 1986, he embarked on his journey with the Sports Authority of India. Over the years, he dedicated himself to various capacities within the Government of Kerala pertaining to sports and youth affairs, including roles as Additional Director, Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, and Secretary of the Kerala Sports Council. Reflecting on his diverse career, Dr. Kishore shared, “My journey also encompassed roles such as Director (Pers.) at the SAI Head Office, in addition to responsibilities at NSEC, Calcutta, and NSSC, Bangalore.” In 2011, he assumed the role of Principal at SAI, LNCPE, Trivandrum, marking the beginning of a period marked by numerous accolades and international assignments across various countries.

Educational Initiatives at SAI LNCPE
Dr. G. Kishore, in his role at SAI LNCPE, is actively contributing to the Fit India Mission by overseeing the implementation of the prestigious Fit India Quiz. This initiative offers substantial cash prizes totaling 3.25 Cr to winners at various tiers. Dr. Kishore’s responsibilities include ensuring the technical soundness of the questions and collaborating with the National Testing Agency for the state-level rounds. The production phase for all levels of e khel pathshala, comprising Introductory, Foundation, Pre Basic, and Basic, has been successfully completed. Notably, 90% of the video content for Introductory and Foundation levels has been produced. Additionally, Dr. Kishore and his team have prepared booklets for Introductory and Foundation levels, both in combined booklets and module-wise formats. The launch of these materials is imminent.
