Hailing from the distinguished Singhania lineage behind the JK Organisation, shaped by visionaries like Lala Kamlapat and Sir Padampat Singhania, Dr. Nidhipati Singhania embodies this charge. As Chairperson (Chancellor) of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, he aligns the institution’s mission with JK’s enduring ethos of integrity, excellence, and social purpose. Legacy to Leadership
Raised in a household deeply rooted in values, Dr. Singhania imbibed his sense of responsibility from his grandfather, the late Sir Padampat Singhania, and his father, Shri Gopalkrishna Singhania. Their commitment to nation-building and education instilled in him the conviction that leadership must be ethical and service-oriented.
Pursuing higher education culminating in a doctorate reinforced his belief in rigorous scholarship with societal impact. A defining turning point came when he witnessed IIT graduates from the region struggling to find advanced opportunities in India. This realization inspired him to build a world-class institution at home—where young Indians could access international-standard education and advance without having to leave the country. Carrying forward the late Shri Yadupati Singhania Ji’s vision, this dream is steadily being realized through SPSU.

SPSU has grown into a vibrant multidisciplinary university, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in engineering, management and sciences. With academic strength spanning Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics, Mining, Biotechnology, and beyond, the university is positioning itself at the forefront of Industry 4.0.
Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), SPSU emphasizes outcome-based education, active learning pedagogies, and a choice-based credit framework. Dr. Singhania’s journey traverses academia and the broader education ecosystem, including his role at FORE School of Management, before assuming leadership positions within J.K. Organisation and the SPSU Board. Motivated by the conviction that education is a transformative force, he spearheaded SPSU’s expansion beyond engineering and management into doctoral studies and emerging domains aligned with Industry 4.0.
As Chairperson (Chancellor), he oversees strategic direction, safeguards academic quality and mission, and ensures governance rooted in JK Organisation’s founding principles. He champions global collaborations, learner-centric pedagogy, and rigorous research frameworks that position SPSU as both future-ready and value-driven.
Under his leadership, SPSU has signed academic MoUs with universities in Japan, Malaysia, the USA, Vietnam, and the Caribbean. It has also forged corporate partnerships with IBM, Oracle, Cisco, Sun Microsystems, PTC, Microsoft, Red Hat, L&T, Xebia, and others—creating Centers of Excellence, advanced training, exchange programs, and live projects for both students and faculty.
To foster innovation and excellence, Dr. Singhania has encouraged entrepreneurship labs, rapid-prototyping challenges, and even campus enhancement idea contests. These initiatives nurture creativity, critical thinking, and applied problem-solving while keeping SPSU aligned with global industry trends.

Dr. Singhania envisions SPSU as a globally respected, future-focused institution cultivating ethical, inclusive, T-shaped global citizens. He emphasizes accessible, interdisciplinary, outcome-driven learning designed for lifelong adaptability, with curricula aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Programs in AI, analytics, computing, biotechnology, civil and mining engineering, and more are evolving with strong co-creation models alongside industry.

“Time in nature keeps the compass steady,” he shares, reflecting a long-standing passion for studying and preserving flora and biodiversity. This deep connection with sustainability and the interconnectedness of life reinforces his belief that transformative education must nurture intellect, empathy, ecological consciousness, and global responsibility.
Reading, long walks in nature, and cultural exploration provide him with perspective, while a keen interest in global developments in technology, higher education, and leadership continues to shape his professional outlook.
When asked about balance, he replies, “Discipline is non-negotiable.” By prioritizing family, health, and reflection, he models sustainable leadership that blends vision with care—for oneself and for others.
