The final exams of terminal semester students have begun in West Bengal universities and colleges today i.e. October 1 amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the ongoing pandemic situations, the exams for final year students are being conducted online.
After several weeks of discussion, the University Grants Commission had decided to let the West Bengal government hold final examinations in the university and colleges from October 1 to October 18.
The state government has asked all the power supply companies in the state to ensure that there is no disruption in the electricity supply from October 1 to 18 as students might face difficulties submitting their answer sheets.
The government has asked all the universities and colleges to ensure that results are published preferably by October-end so that admission to post-graduate and PhD programs can start soon.
An examination official said, “As internet connection is weak in some villages and towns, students have been given the option to submit the answer scripts at colleges within a stipulated time after writing the exam”.
