Summer Vacations in Chhattisgarh are extended in view of the scorching heat. The state government on Wednesday decided to extend the summer vacation of schools till June 26. As per the previous dates, the schools were scheduled to reopen from June 16 but now the dates are extended till June 26. Students and parents must take note of the revised dates and contact respective schools for further information.
The orders are issued upon the directions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. CM directed officials concerned to extend the summer vacation to ensure the safety of children in view of high temperatures and the heat wave, the official told PTI.
The school education department will be issuing a directive in this regard shortly.
The Met department in Raipur on Tuesday predicted the occurrence of a heat wave at isolated pockets in central Chhattisgarh for the next four days.
Heatwave: Schools closed in several areas
Other than Chhattisgarh, several states and regions have announced school closures to protect students from the heatwave. Jharkhand government on June 12, announced that schools will remain closed across the state for a period of three days.
