About JEE Main 2022
JEE Main 2022 – National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2022 4 times tentatively in February, March, April and May. The JEE Mains 2022 February application form will be released tentatively in December 2021 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates willing to appear in the NTA JEE Main exam will have to fill the application form before the last date.
NTA will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2022 in an online mode of 3 hours for both Paper 1 and 2. JEE Main 2022 paper 1 is conducted for admission to BE/BTech courses and JEE Mains 2022 paper 2 for admission to BArch and B.Planning courses. Class 12 students who passed the exam in March 2021 and appeared for the 2022 board exams are eligible for NTA JEE Main exam. It is advised to check the JEE Main 2022 eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The National Testing Agency will release separate NTA IIT JEE Main application forms for each session. Candidates will have to pay an application fee for each session separately in order to appear in each session exam.
Candidates will be able to download the JEE Main admit card 2022 from jeemain.nta.nic.in. JEE Main 2022 admit card must be carried at the exam centres along with other relevant documents for verification purposes. Students should prepare all topics of the JEE Main syllabus 2022 to get good marks. The authorities will release the JEE Main 2022 answer key for each session on the official website. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections against the NTA JEE Main answer key 2022. Candidates will be able to check JEE Main 2022 results using their application number and date of birth. Students should keep JEE Main login details handy to download the results.
Those shortlisted on the basis of JEE Main 2022 results will be eligible to participate in the JEE Main counselling process conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). A total of six counselling rounds are conducted by JoSAA.

NTA JEE Main 2022 – Key points
- Number of sessions: NTA JEE Main 2022 will be held in 4 sessions – February, March, April, and May. Paper-I will be conducted in all four sessions but Paper (2A & 2B) will be held in February and May sessions only.
- No of Attempts: The number of JEE Mains 2022 attempts is increased to 4 times per year.
- Regional 13 languages: IIT JEE Main exam will be conducted in 13 regional languages including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- New Exam pattern: In JEE Mains exam, candidates will have a choice to answer 5 questions from 10 questions in section B which comprises numerical questions. The MCQs will be asked under section A of the JEE Main 2022.
- Best of NTA JEE 2022 scores: To compute the All India Rank in the JEE Main exam, the best of the four NTA JEE Main 2022 scores will be taken.
- Choice of applying for more than one JEE attempt: Candidates can now opt to apply for more than one JEE Main exam in the December JEE Main 2022 application form itself.
- Carry forward of JEE Main fee to the next attempt: Candidates can pay for JEE Main 2022 fees for all four sessions (February/March/April/May). In case a candidate does not want to appear in any of the JEE Main exam sessions for which the fee has already been paid, it will be refunded by NTA. The refund request must be placed during the JEE Main exam form filling process from which the candidate wants to withdraw.
- Class 12 marks for appearing in JEE Main 2022: Candidates need to have 75% in their class 12 to appear for JEE Main exam 2022. However, this criteria was removed for last two years on account of COVID-19. The class 12 marks were only considered during admissions through JoSAA in the previous two years.
What is JEE Main 2022 Exam?
Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main) is the national level computer-based test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JEE Main 2022 will be held now in February, March, April, and May. JEE Main exam has two papers.
JEE Main 2022 Paper 1 is conducted for B.E/B.Tech admissions at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. It is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is for IIT admission. JEE Main Paper 2 is for B.Arch and B.Plan admissions. The exam patterns for JEE Main 2022 for Paper 1 and Paper 2 are different.
