JEE Main 2021 will be held from February to May, once a month. The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2021 will be conducted in four test cycles, for a total of 16 days. There will be 4.14 lakh questions and 384 question papers in 12 languages.
The JEE Main 2021 registration for the February cycle is set to begin later this week. Since the engineering entrance exam will be held once each month, candidates will be given the window of a week to apply for the exam in the subsequent month. The results of JEE Main 2021 will be announced in four to five days after the exams end.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had hinted in his live interaction with students, teachers, and parents on December 10 that JEE Main may be held more than twice a year. Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Education told TOI that this method of conducting JEE Main in multiple cycles will benefit students since they can appear in the exam as per their convenience. He added that this practice was used in international exams such as SAT, GRE, and TOEFL.
He also said that state boards would most likely reschedule the board exams which are usually held in February-March. Moreover, from JEE Main 2021, the test papers will be available in 12 languages. In the JEE Advanced 2020, 8754 out of 2.2 lakh candidates were from a vernacular medium.
The JEE Main 2021 registration began today, December 15, and will continue till January 15, 2021. The official notification says that students can select the question paper language while filling up the form and that it cannot be changed later on.
