School of Engineering and Technology (SET) organized a Virtual Orientation Program on 13th October 2020 to wholeheartedly welcome new members of the school. The primary objective of the orientation program was to acquaint the new entrants to understand the vision and mission of the school, the available educational opportunities for them, and the values and ethics of the organization. The program started with an introductory lecture by Prof. Megha Chhabra where the students were briefed about the work culture, achievements, and accolades of the school of engineering and technology. Prof. Parma Nand, Dean SET, congratulated the students for the new beginning and introduced the academic and research aspects of the school.He suggested the students to work in groups and carry out brainstorming in order to find innovative solutions to common problems existing in the society. The students were motivated to think beyond the curriculum and try to attain the ultimate goal of education, that is, nation-building.
All the Head of Departments, Dr. Amit K. Singh, Dr. Gaurav Saini, Prof. Nitin Rakesh, Dr. Premanand Pany and Prof. Bhim Singh presented an overview of their respective departments. The students were introduced to the Teaching-Learning, Research and Innovation, Clubs, Students Centric activities as well as the facilities available at the school and university level. Students were introduced to the mentoring system available at the school level.
Finally, a glimpse of vast industrial opportunities lying ahead post joining the course was demonstrated by Mr. Raj Nidhi Sharma. A list of several collaborative work going on with different industries and students of the University was shared with the new entrants. It was a successful and fruitful orientation which introduced the newcomers with the culture of the school The orientation program was attended by around 300 participants.
