Adding a point on the aspect of R & D importance at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Poreddy stated – “Progressive managements such as ours are encouraging the faculty by providing funds in the budgets for conducting in-house R&D activity by the faculty and the students”. Through the conversation with the Executive Director, we also learnt that at SNIST the faculty is encouraged to publish papers in International journals which are recognized by rating agencies such as Scopus, Web of Science, Thomson Routers, etc. and also to present papers in prestigious national and international conferences. Additionally, there is also a scheme present at Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology where financial incentives for publication of papers in indexed journals to the tune of Rs. 10,000 per paper.
Furthermore, in a time where there is constant criticism from the industry that the students are not having knowledge in the application of theory they learnt. In order to overcome this effectively, the faculty members of Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology are requested to search for various applications of the theory they are teaching unit-wise, so that the students can relate the theory with practice. Not only are the students encouraged to outdo themselves in the academic direction every time, but they are also made to get prepared towards assured placement opportunities, by preaching students to build strong interpersonal relations via group activities such as working in a group and leading a team to achieve the goals set by the team.
The college also encourages various activities to be taken up by students such as formation of various technical, managerial, literary, cultural, sports and games committees. Each committee sets a goal for itself and their tasks are well cut out to plan and execute the various activities such as competitions internally and national level contests.
