Established in 2007, Tagore Dental College received approval from the Dental Council of India (DCI) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India (GOI) to offer the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course. It is affiliated with The TN Dr. MGR Medical University, a state-owned institution. The recognition for the BDS course was attained in 2012. Subsequently, in 2018, the college expanded its offerings by introducing the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course in four postgraduate specialties, following permissions from the DCI and affiliation from the University.
