Today, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), officially introduced the four-year undergraduate program (FYUP) at Indira Gandhi National University (IGNOU). This initiative, considered a significant reform in Indian higher education, aims to offer students diverse enrollment opportunities, as stated in an IGNOU press release.
Whether students choose to pursue these courses as part of a regular program or concurrently pursue an undergraduate degree in a different discipline, IGNOU’s FYUP provides a wide range of possibilities. The programs launched today encompass Bachelor of Commerce (BCOMF), Bachelor of Arts (Economics), Bachelor of Arts (History), Bachelor of Arts (Political Science), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Bachelor of Arts (Public Administration), Bachelor of Arts (Sociology), Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology), Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry), Bachelor of Arts (English), Bachelor of Arts (Hindi), Bachelor of Arts (Sanskrit), Bachelor of Arts (Urdu), Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Arts (Facilities and Service Management), Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy), and Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Digital Media).
