UPSC CSE Result 2021: Kutch auto driver’s son cracks Civil Services exam

An autorickshaw in a non-descript village of Kutch’s Mandvi taluka got new pair of wings today as he cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021. Thanks to his youngest son’s remarkable achievement, Bharatdan Gadhvi’s auto sped off like a Ferari on Vingadiya roads after 25-year-old Jayvir cracked the UPSC IAS Exam 2021 with Gujarati literature by securing AIR 341 in the UPSC final result 2021 announced on Monday. But this is yet another feather to Jayvir’s cap as he had secured the first rank in Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) last year and is currently working as probationary deputy collector in Vadodara.

“It is a matter of pride for me. I consider myself very fortunate that I was able to clear both GPSC and UPSC,” Gadhvi, who was appointed in Vadodara on April 25 after he cleared GPSC exam last September, told TOI. “The service allotment will be done in the next two to three days. My first preference is to go into bureaucracy and implement government schemes for welfare of society. If not, I will join IPS,” said Jayvir, the youngest amongst four siblings in his family, while his mother Sarojben is a homemaker.

After completing his primary education from government primary school in his own village till class five, Gadhvi got selected in Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kutch, from where he completed his secondary education and later completed his Class 11 and 12 from Rajkot.

After graduating as an engineer from SVNIT, Surat, Gadhvi preferred taking up a job in Jaipur where he worked for 10 months. “I saved my salary to pursue coaching for the civil service examinations,” he recalled, while admitting that the dream of joining government services had been instilled in him early on.
