A industry-oriented and led University, GU boasts of an infrastructure that is of international standards. Encouraging the usage of teaching and non-teaching members for the use of ICT enabled tools including online resources for effective teaching and learning process. All the classes have projectors with a LAN facility available. Meeting rooms have the facility of video conferencing. To use the technology efficiently, training programs are often arranged for the teaching and non-teaching staff. At GNA University, there is a leased line for the internet with 600 MB bandwidth that is available in all the academic and administrative areas, library, faculty cabins and hostels. Scanning and photocopying facilities are available in the library and within the whole campus. Talking about the laboratories, amenities and facilities available at GNA, The VC shared – “The University has laboratories with latest equipment and apparatus, and the Science departments have a number of laboratories with incubation facilities, deep freezers and many more, along with a unique Herbal organic Garden to support the hospitality department”.

Beyond Conventional University Education

With a clear aim of giving back to the community more than just degree holders, GU is a haven for extracurricular and co-curricular activities. Through these outside the classroom learning opportunities, the University provides a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom. Also, by letting students use their academic skills in a real-world context, students build long-lasting connections, meet students from different backgrounds, and gain numerous skills such as communication, teamwork, organization, problem solving and time management. In short, it helps students to gain their confidence. Additionally, the University organizes different cultural activities like Fresher’s Day, Talent Hunt function, Yoga Day and various festivals in which students explore their talent and creativity. GNA University has 8 cultural clubs/technical societies, and one unit of National Service Scheme (NSS) & National Cadet Corps (NCC). University also provides fee concessions to deserving sportspersons. 

Like every other institution, GNA University also provides opportunities for various internship/placement and knowledge exchange programs to students. Every year numerous companies come, with the number of students getting placed with an increasing amount of packages offered by the companies. There are special courses, training and classes offered by the university so as to make the students well prepared for such placement drives. During the campus placement students from different departments Engineering, MBA, Hotel Management, Animation & Multimedia received secured placements every year. The average package offered across the course ranges from 6lpa to 27lpa.

Not only does GU excel as a hotspot for quality placement opportunities, the management also strives hard to provide an ecosystem that promotes and supports innovation, entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) among the students, staff and faculty. This ecosystem includes various technical clubs and societies, Centre for Innovation (GU-CI), GU-Institution Innovation Council (GU-IIC) and GNA University’s Technology Business Incubator (GU-TBI), GU-IPR Cell and various national-level clubs. GU-TBI is ready to provide a kick start to a startup to start its journey from scratch. GU-TBI supports start-ups related to Agritech , the Internet of Things (IOT) & Automation, drone technology , and electrical vehicles

The Incubation Facilities available at GNA include a well Furnished and Fully AC office Space with Wi-Fi Access for Start-ups. And amenities such as 3-D Printing Lab, Simulation Lab, Manufacturing Lab, Design Labs, Prototyping Lab, with detailed Mentoring Support, Co working spaces and Pre-seed/seed funding Support Mentor Network.

Loans and Scholarships

GU offers several types of financial assistance and the scholarships for the students, among which the Girl child scholarship (Single Girl Child/only Girl Sibling), Corporate Employees Scholarship, Sibling Scholarships, Scholarships for Sports Persons are a few.

Prof. (Dr.) V. K Rattan – Vice Chancellor  

The Vice Chancellor of GNA University, Phagwara, Dr. Rattan has served as an educationalist for more than three decades. He believes higher education has been a matter of intense debate globally, and as the head of the university, he puts in all his efforts to provide quality education to the students and make them employable. To assure this, he actively partakes in the curation of the curriculum, to be completely industry centric. He also motivates and organizes various workshops, seminars and invites experts from the industry to conduct guest lectures, which he strongly believes helps in educating the students about the upcoming challenges and expose them with the ongoing scenario in their opted streams.
