It is in recognition of this need that Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance was started in the year 2010.

Operating under the vast umbrella of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), SSBF is proud to be the institute that helps the participants get equipped with required knowledge. SSBF offers a two years full time residential MBA Program in Banking and Finance. The best-in-class education imparted at SSBF ensures that the budding managers are ready to fulfill the constantly changing demands of industry. Furthermore, one of the core features of the Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance curriculum and teaching pedagogy is the integration of technology in teaching and learning. 

The internationalization of education and co-curricular activities is one of the central values at Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and thus at Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance , it has become a welcome part that the b-school now offers many training programs for working professionals as well as graduating students. Adding a point on this Dr. Neha Parashar shared, “So far we have designed content for TISS, Bajaj, and BFSI sector skill council, along with performing as a dedicated entity that boosts quality quests for excellence in the days ahead”.

Inculcating a strong spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance strives rigorously towards contributing to knowledge generation and dissemination. As a result, students are made aware of the issues concerning our rural areas, and the management motivates them to participate wholeheartedly in community development programs. With a vision of nurturing creativity and encouraging entrepreneurship, SSBF hosts a couple of committees, which also includes Equity Research Cell, Bloomberg Cell and the E-Cell. All these committees let students experiment beyond their comfort zones and work towards trying something on their own. – Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance – students conduct financial literacy programs in villages, especially targeting women. Students take part in field visits; educating farmers and small scale producers, thus, understanding entrepreneurship in a more practical way. 

Explaining about the benefits of new-age technologies for students looking forward to excelling in the BFSI sector, Dr. Neha shared,  “Where Bloomberg enables real-time data sourcing and analysis, Python and R programming language enables statistical analysis and inferences”.  “Also, Data analysis tools like SPSS and Tableau facilitate data analysis, helps extract insights, and draw relevant financial information, eventually unearthing the latest trends in the BFSI purview on budding BFSI managers and professionals of SSBF”.  

Beyond industrial-connections

SSBF is proud of the fact that it has signed an MoU with BAIF. This association with BAIF helps students understand microfinance to great levels, while also making them understand business models which they can utilize in their livelihoods. Additionally, Symbiosis School of Banking & Finance has signed an MOU with Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for the content development of the Certificate and Diploma Programme in Banking and Finance under their National University Students’ Skill Development (NUSSD) programme. All in all, SSBF operates as a complete b-school offering the most premier facilities and opportunities a 21st century student would look forward to. SSBF provides opportunities to students to learn and grow. Students have access to platforms where industry experts interact with students,   they have to undergo a 2-month internship at organizations like SBI, Bank of Maharashtra and so on, and SSBF provides 100% placements for the eligible candidates. Also, in order to help become ready personnel who can face interviews with confidence, SSBF provides GDPI orientation, where the experts ask questions and tasks to them, in turn, making them placement ready. Lastly, all of these quality endeavors carried out by SSBF ensures all the students’ progress efficiently and effectively, be it in their personal lives or professional lives. 

Dr. Neha Parashar – Director

Dr. Neha Parashar completed her doctorate degree in the area of behavioral finance (2008) and is a gold medalist (University topper) during her MBA and M.Com. Her research interests lie in the area of financial markets, financial services, behavioral finance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, wealth management, and financial planning. She has presented papers in several international and national conferences. Her research papers have been published in various peer-reviewed journals across.  She has authored a book named “Mutual Fund and Investors” published by Classical Publishing House, New Delhi. She has 18 years of rich teaching experience across several universities and colleges in India. She has also participated in a 5 months long Faculty Development Programme organized at IIM, Ahmedabad.
