In today’s rapidly evolving educational landscape in India, an ICSE school must not only provide rigorous academic training but also foster holistic development through sports, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities. With increasing competition and ever-changing industry demands, schools are expected to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and leadership skills while ensuring affordability for all. New Millennium School stands out by embracing this multi-faceted approach to education. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in their exceptional academic standards, alongside a robust offering of sports and extracurricular activities. Notably, the introduction of free after-school classes in Science and Math for classes 9 and 10 exemplifies their dedication to providing personalized support, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive, irrespective of their individual learning capabilities.

A Commitment to Excellence

Founded in March 1999 and officially inaugurated on July 27, 2002, New Millennium School follows the ICSE syllabus while emphasizing child-centered, value-based education with a strong academic foundation. The school offers classes from Nursery to Std 7, where lessons are integrated with the concept of Multiple Intelligences (MI), with an MI expert visiting weekly to review the teaching methods in the classrooms. For students in classes 8, 9, and 10, Bloom’s Taxonomy is incorporated into the curriculum to enhance critical thinking and learning.

Equipped with smart boards in all classrooms from Nursery to Std 8, as well as in specialized labs for Physics, Biology, Computer Science, and Chemistry, the school ensures a modern, interactive learning environment. Beyond academics, the school offers a wide array of activities, including yoga, performing arts, martial arts, and over 40 co-curricular and extracurricular programs throughout the year. The school places a strong emphasis on professional sports training, providing every student with athletic opportunities. With a focus on holistic development, New Millennium School also hosts major events like Annual Day, Sports Day, and Graduation Day, which further enrich the student experience and foster talent.

A Comprehensive Approach to Student Development

At New Millennium School, the focus is on the all-round development of each child. The school aims not only to enhance a student’s Intellectual Quotient (IQ) but also to nurture their Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Cultural Intelligence (CQ), Moral Intelligence (MQ), Gender Intelligence (GQ), and Digital Intelligence (DQ).

Emotional intelligence is developed through outreach programs and the school’s pet-friendly environment, which help students build strong social skills. Sports, along with a wide range of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, further encourage social growth. Moral intelligence is instilled through the exemplary character of both academic and non-academic staff, along with the integration of spirituality, love for God, and value education classes.

Cultural intelligence is enriched through storytelling from Jataka Tales, Panchatantra, and Aesop’s Fables, which impart moral and cultural lessons. Cultural sensitivity is also nurtured through various cultural programs. Additionally, computer classes equip students with essential digital skills, while the school’s co-ed environment ensures appropriate gender sensitivity and respect among students.

Celebrating Achievements

Reflecting on the school’s achievements in the past few academic years, Dr. Rajeev Kishen, the Founder-Secretary of New Millennium School, highlighted several key successes.

Alongside exceptional ICSE results which have become a norm by now, the school received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents, with over 97% rating it as either “A – Excellent” or “B – Very Good” in biannual surveys.

In response to recent educational reforms, New Millennium School has ensured its academic structure remains aligned with the evolving landscape, while retaining the core strengths of the ICSE curriculum.

Notably, the school boasts outstanding ICSE results, with most students being first-generation ICSE candidates. Less than 2% of Class 10 students attend private tuition, showcasing the effectiveness of the school’s teaching methods.

In the Days to Come

In the coming academic year of 2025 New Millennium School plans to enhance its infrastructure by purchasing its own bus for field trips and constructing a new building that will house a Music Room, a Home Science Lab, and an Indoor Sports Room. The school also looks forward to hosting inter-school friendly matches in basketball, cricket, and football on its playgrounds. In terms of extracurricular activities, the school is in pursuit of introducing new clubs, including a Foreign Language Club and a Home Science Club, which will meet on Saturdays, alongside existing clubs like the Science Club, Art and Craft Club, and Literary Club. Dance and martial arts classes for students in Grades V to VIII are already underway. Looking ahead, the school plans to host a Science Fest and introduce programs such as knitting for girls and carpentry for boys.
