Canada’s international education and temporary workforce sectors are experiencing one of their sharpest declines in recent years. Official data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) indicates that new international student arrivals in 2025 have dropped by nearly 60% compared to last year. The decline, amounting to around 1.32 lakh fewer newcomers, highlights the significant impact of the extensive reforms to student and temporary worker programs implemented since late 2023.
