Specifically, the School of Information and Communication Technology hosts a B.Tech. AI course with a duration of 4 Years, where the curriculum is structured at a level of  national and international standards. The faculty members at the institution are exceptionally qualified, holding Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with specializations in various branches of AI. They actively engage in cutting-edge research in AI, focusing on Machine Learning, Data Science, and other pivotal areas. 

The admission criteria for the AI program require candidates to have completed their 10+2 education with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects, along with one of the following: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a Technical Vocational Subject. The program offers 30 seats, with the possibility of extension to accommodate up to 60 students. Furthermore, the UP Government’s reservation policy is diligently implemented for admission in the institution.

The institution regularly interacts with numerous companies to promote practical learning, letting students have the chance to travel to these sectors, acquiring priceless firsthand knowledge of the uses of AI in the real world. Moreover, the Gautam Buddha University has signed more than ten Memorandums of Understanding with businesses during the past three years, enhancing the connection between academia and business. Nestled within an expansive, 454.76-acre residential campus, the university’s architectural marvel seamlessly integrates lush green surroundings, constituting 30% of its overall area. Having a sprawling campus covering an extensive area of 55 lakh square feet, the university is dedicated to fostering a well-rounded approach to development, with a strong focus on combining both physical and intellectual training in a comprehensive manner. The School of Information and Communication Technology  at Gautam Buddha University offers a multitude of clubs catering to AI branch students, such as Code Chef and the Programming Club, aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills. In conclusion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kumar Sinha joyfully stated that the institution hosts an annual cultural extravaganza known as “Abhivyanjana,” which is especially created to spark the students’ intellect, imagination, and creativity. He continued, highlighting the fact that this event cuts across cultural boundaries and inspires kids to overcome constraints. In order to develop a culture of growth and togetherness among the vibrant student community, “Abhivyanjana” provides a platform for aspiring managers, team leaders, and team players to put their skills to the test against all obstacles.

Prof. R. K. Sinha – Vice Chancellor

Prof. R. K. Sinha holds an M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Kharagpur, which he completed in 1984. In 1990, he earned his Ph.D. specializing in Fiber Optics and Optoelectronics from IIT Delhi. His academic journey extended further through Post-Doctoral Research at Osaka and Kobe University in Japan, as well as at I.I.Sc Bangalore between 1989 and 1991. Over the years, Prof. Sinha has enriched his career through various academic positions, including stints at BITS Pilani, REC/NIT Hamirpur H.P., and DCE/DTU-Delhi.

He made significant contributions in establishing the TIFAC-Center of Relevance and Excellence in Fiber Optics and Optical Communication under the Technology Vision 2020 Program. Additionally, he conceptualized and executed the B.Tech. Engineering Physics, M.Tech. (MOCE), and M.Tech. (NST) programs at DTU Delhi. Prof. Sinha’s remarkable research endeavors are evident through his impressive publication record, boasting over 380 research papers in esteemed Journals (174) and Conference Proceedings (206). Furthermore, he has authored 07 book chapters and 03 books, and holds credit for originating 06 patents. He has been actively involved in supervising 22 sponsored projects and guiding 20 Doctoral theses.

His contributions to the field of optics and photonics have been recognized with fellowships from prestigious organizations. Prof. Sinha is a Fellow of the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), and the Optical Society of India (OSI). Prof. Sinha’s expertise has extended to leadership roles as well, serving as the Director of CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh, CEERI Pilani, and IMTECH Chandigarh. Moreover, he has been a mentor to over 39 technology development projects, facilitating their successful transfer to the industry.
