The Karnataka government has announced the expansion of the Marusinchana scheme to 27 educational districts to strengthen learning outcomes across government schools. The initiative focuses on students in classes 6 to 10 who are behind academically, with the objective of narrowing learning gaps and improving overall performance. Approximately 18,000 students are expected to benefit from this phase of the rollout.
Designed as a targeted academic support programme, Marusinchana emphasizes remedial teaching within the school year to help learners achieve class-appropriate competencies. The state plans to provide structured practice materials and comprehensive teaching modules, alongside dedicated teacher training, to ensure consistent delivery and measurable impact in classrooms.
By scaling Marusinchana, the government aims to create equitable academic support for learners who need it most and to elevate school-level outcomes through focused interventions. The move underscores a broader commitment to quality improvement in public education and aligns with efforts to reinforce foundational skills during the critical middle and secondary school years.
