From the Scratch

Smt. Srividya Reddy Gunampalli’s journey into education was not a conventional one, but her early life experiences played a crucial role in shaping her perspective and leadership approach. While she was not initially drawn to the education sector, she was deeply influenced by the ideals of self-reliance and independence. She firmly believes that every individual, especially women, should have the ability to stand on their own, both personally and professionally. This conviction in financial independence was deeply rooted in the values instilled by her mother and grandmother, both of whom exemplified strength and self-sufficiency.

Her academic journey has been instrumental in shaping her leadership philosophy in education. Reflecting on her schooling, she acknowledges the strong foundation provided by the ICSE curriculum, particularly in English and mathematics. However, it was during her intermediate years that she realized the limitations of rote learning. She came to understand that true knowledge and wisdom are not determined by the number of hours spent with textbooks but rather by critical thinking and practical application.

Her education in the technology field further honed her analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Studying at one of her own institutions provided her with invaluable insights into the inner workings of the education system. She gained a firsthand understanding of faculty dynamics, the complexities of decision-making processes, and the necessity of creating a collaborative academic environment.

A Legacy of Leadership and Lifelong Commitment to Education

Smt. Srividya Reddy Gunampalli’s association with G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science is deeply personal, as she herself is an alumna of the institution. Beyond being an academic endeavor, GNITS is an integral part of her legacy as a family-run institution. Her grandparents envisioned her taking on a leadership role in education, and their guidance and foresight played a pivotal role in shaping her commitment to this responsibility. Their belief in her potential inspired her to approach this journey with dedication and purpose.

Upon joining the institution, she prioritized gaining a comprehensive understanding of its inner workings. Rather than assuming a leadership position outright, she immersed herself in learning the fundamentals of every department, ensuring she grasped the operational dynamics at every level. This hands-on approach allowed her to develop a holistic perspective on how various components of the institution function cohesively to create an environment of academic excellence.

Over time, her role expanded, and she had the privilege of not only leading G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Science but also overseeing the administration of three K-12 schools within the same educational group.
