The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has updated its attempt limits and eligibility criteria for candidates already selected into civil services. Following patterns from prior years to where the Commission imposed specific curbs on inducted candidates, while the UPSC’s CSE Prelims 2026 notification introduces clearer, more detailed restrictions for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
These revised guidelines provide explicit rules on when candidates already in IPS or other Group A services like IAS and IFS can or cannot take future civil services exams.
