The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has deferred two Class 12 Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams in West Garo Hills district following violent clashes between tribal and non-tribal communities over local council poll nominations, according to an official.
The Music paper, set for March 11, and the Anthropology paper, scheduled for March 12, have been postponed in this district alone.Exams across the rest of Meghalaya will proceed as planned.
MBOSE Director of Accreditation and Controller of Examinations TR Laloo confirmed: “The HSSLC Music exam on March 11 and Anthropology exam on March 12 are cancelled only in West Garo Hills. Revised dates will be announced soon.”
