In the vast and complex landscape of the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Educational Society, Mr. D. Shreyes Kumar serves as the Director of Projects. A key figure in the younger generation of the Dharmasthala family, his role is centered on the physical and strategic expansion of the society’s 56 institutions, ensuring that the legacy’s infrastructure keeps pace with its global academic ambitions.

Strategic Oversight of Modern Infrastructure

As Director of Projects, Mr. Shreyes Kumar is responsible for the blueprint of the society’s growth. His work ensures that every new building, laboratory, and campus extension reflects the Value-based Education philosophy.

He plays a foundational role in upgrading the facilities at flagship institutions like the SDM Institute of Technology (SDMIT) and SDM College of Engineering and Technology (SDMCET). His focus remains on creating spaces that foster innovation, such as high-tech research centers and smart classrooms. From the initial planning stages to final execution, he oversees the architectural and logistical development of diverse projects across Karnataka.

Bridging Tradition and Technology

Shreyes Kumar serves as a vital bridge between the time-honored traditions of the SDM group and the requirements of 21st-century learners. He is a strong advocate for integrating state-of-the-art information and communication technology (ICT) into the society’s educational framework. And under his guidance, new projects increasingly incorporate eco-friendly designs and sustainable energy solutions.

Institutional Governance and Leadership

Beyond physical projects, Shreyes Kumar is an active member of the governing boards for several premier institutions, including the SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) in Mysore and the SDM College of Ayurveda. In these roles, he contributes to strategic policy-making.

Kshemavana’s Dream Team Member

A crowning achievement in his portfolio is the establishment of Kshemavana, the SDM Group’s premier wellness and naturopathy retreat near Bengaluru. Shri Shreyes Kumar was instrumental in managing this expansive 21-acre project, which integrates ancient Vaastu principles with avant-garde architecture. His oversight ensured the successful realization of iconic structures like the “Kurma” building, a massive, tortoise-shaped hall dedicated to yoga and meditation, and the “Nandi” block for therapeutic dining. By blending traditional healing sciences with modern luxury and sustainable design, he has helped create a sanctuary that serves as a global benchmark for holistic health.
