The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) is set to partner with Sree Narayana Guru Open University in Kollam to introduce certificate and diploma programmes focused on child rights and child-related legislation, officials announced on Monday.
The two institutions will formalise this partnership through a memorandum of understanding, to be signed at the Vice Chancellor’s chamber at Sree Narayana Guru Open University on August 11 at 10:30 am.
As per a commission statement, the new courses are designed to equip learners with both theoretical and hands-on understanding of child rights, covering key areas such as constitutional safeguards for children, the Juvenile Justice Act, the POCSO Act, and laws prohibiting child marriage and child labour.
