The National Testing Agency (NTA) has empanelled about 5,000 academicians, scientists, researchers, professionals, educators, translators and moderators as subject matter experts, sources said.
The panel will handle question paper setting, translation, vetting, moderation, answer key verification, curriculum mapping, research, psychometric validation and other confidential assignments.
The overhaul follows the NEET-UG paper leak in May this year, which triggered massive protests and led to the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. After the leak, the NTA sacked about 600 subject matter experts and moved its headquarters from Okhla in South East Delhi to the Government of India Press building on Minto Road.
