Dr. B. S. Murugan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Anna University, a Master’s degree in the same field from SRM University, and a Ph.D. in Information Technology with a specialization in Cloud Computing from Kalasalingam University. With over 17 years of academic experience, he has made significant contributions to both teaching and research. His scholarly work includes more than 50 publications in national and international conferences and journals.
Dr. Murugan’s academic expertise spans Cloud Computing, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, and Network Security. As a dedicated researcher and mentor, he has successfully guided four Ph.D. scholars. Received funding of ₹36 lakhs from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and successfully completed several consultancy projects for private sector clients. Over the course of his career, he has progressively taken on greater responsibilities ranging from coordinating academic programs to leading departments. His active involvement in accreditation processes, quality assurance initiatives, and strategic planning has further sharpened his administrative and leadership capabilities, positioning him as an effective and visionary academic leader.

As Principal of M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering, Dr. B. S. He sets and safeguards the institution’s academic vision, drives curriculum relevance, champion’s interdisciplinary research, and oversees continuous quality improvement through systematic monitoring and feedback.
