Dr. Krishna Chivukula, an American industrialist and entrepreneur, has donated ₹228 crore to the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, according to an announcement made by authorities on Tuesday.
According to V Kamakoti, director of IIT Madras, it is regarded as one of the single greatest gifts ever received by the university. The money would be used for a number of activities.
“Almost 53 years later, Dr. Krishna Chivukula, one of our alumni, has come to present IIT-Madras with a gift of ₹228 crore. He completed his M Tech in aircraft engineering in the 1970s, and he has founded businesses that produce airplane parts, Kamakoti said reporters.
