As India steadily ascends on the global economic stage, poised to become one of the world’s leading economies, the role of management education has never been more critical. The nation’s growth trajectory demands a new generation of business leaders—professionals who are not only academically proficient but also industry-ready, ethical, and globally aware. However, while many management institutes fall short of meeting this challenge, there are select institutions that are rising to the occasion by cultivating capable, well-rounded, and socially responsible leaders.
Among these, Rajalakshmi School of Business (RSB) stands out as a beacon of excellence in Tamil Nadu’s educational landscape. RSB is deeply committed to its mission of shaping the leaders of tomorrow. It does so by focusing on building student competencies through a robust, industry-aligned curriculum, fostering an immersive and engaging learning environment, and offering direct exposure to real-world business ecosystems. Furthermore, through structured mentorship and holistic development programs, RSB ensures that students graduate with not only the technical know-how but also the professional maturity needed to thrive in today’s dynamic and competitive business environment.
Rajalakshmi School of Business in a Nutshell
Established in 2015, RSB is a premier private business school located in Chembarambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It operates under the aegis of the Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
RSB offers a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), structured across six trimesters. This AICTE-approved program includes an 8–10 week internship after the first year, providing students with valuable hands-on experience. Specializations are offered in high-demand domains such as Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, Analytics & System, Entrepreneurship and Operations.
With a strong emphasis on industry relevance, RSB continuously aligns its curriculum with evolving business trends. This is achieved through close collaboration with corporate leaders and industry experts. The school’s strategic board (RSP) comprises senior executives from leading companies such as CTS, TCS, and Henkel, who provide strategic insights and feedback that inform regular curriculum updates. In addition to core management subjects, RSB integrates industry-driven topics like Business and Regional Marketing and Financial Modelling, ensuring that graduates are not only academically prepared but also business-ready.
Empowering Growth for All
Rajalakshmi School of Business (RSB) places a strong emphasis on holistic student development, both academically and personally. From the first year, each student is assigned a dedicated faculty mentor who provides regular guidance and support. This mentorship extends beyond the classroom, as faculty members themselves participate in the same industry mentorship programs and internships as students.
RSB also upholds a rigorous faculty recruitment process to maintain high academic standards. Prospective faculty members undergo multiple evaluation rounds, including subject presentations and interviews conducted by a panel comprising both internal and external academic experts. Selection is based on domain expertise, teaching ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
To support ongoing faculty development, RSB conducts Management Development Programs (MDPs) every trimester. These sessions, led by seasoned industry professionals, are domain-specific and span areas such as business strategy, marketing, finance, and operations. On average, 12 to 13 MDPs are conducted each trimester.
Bridging Academia with Industry and Global Exposure

At Rajalakshmi School of Business, industry engagement is a cornerstone of the learning experience. Every student is required to undertake a summer internship after their first year—typically following the third trimester—working individually on live business case studies with leading companies. This hands-on exposure is complemented by RSB’s Corporate Mentorship Program, where students receive personalized guidance from senior industry leaders.
As part of this initiative, students present case studies, engage in real-world projects, and gain invaluable insights into the workings of the corporate world. In addition to strong industry ties, RSB is globally connected through academic collaborations with prestigious institutions such as Swinburne University (Australia), University of Rabat (Morocco), ESC Clermont (France), and Taylor’s University (Malaysia).
These partnerships enrich the academic experience by facilitating student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, exposure to international business practices, and opportunities for international internships—helping students build a global mindset and multicultural competence.
A Career Launchpad
RSB is known for consistently achieving good placement results for its students. In the last placement cycle, the highest package offered was ₹20 LPA, while the average was ₹7.75 LPA. The leading recruiters include top companies like ITC, Redington, Cognizant (CTS), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC and ICICI, to name a few.
The placement process at RSB is both structured and strategic and is backed by the Rajalakshmi Group’s 27 years of experience in the education sector. Approximately 80 companies visit the campus each year, using a mix of companies that proactively approach RSB and others that are invited through a targeted outreach. A robust alumni network, with former students working in top companies, plays a crucial role in connecting students with companies and expanding placement opportunities.
