Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has reached out to all state Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors, and administrators to request their full support in ensuring a smooth, fair, and successful NEET UG re-examination on June 21, 2026. This move, highlighted by the Ministry of Education on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, underscores the federal government’s commitment to securely managing the high-stakes test for more than 23 lakh medical aspirants.
In his appeal, Minister Pradhan also emphasized the extreme heatwave conditions currently affecting major portions of India, where June temperatures regularly climb between 40°C and 45°C. He urged local governments and Union Territory administrations to guarantee that all testing centers are equipped with essential basic amenities to keep candidates safe and comfortable.
This follows a recent preparatory review by the Education Minister, during which he ordered officials to implement stringent security measures to ensure the upcoming re-examination is completely secure, seamless, and foolproof.
