Soon, school students will be introduced to the inaugural AI-enabled educational tablet originating from India. These tablets, recently unveiled by S. Krishnan, Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and backed by the EPIC Foundation, represent a significant step forward.
Crafted by VVDN Technologies in partnership with MediaTek India and CoRover.ai, these tablets incorporate distinctive features aimed at addressing India’s digital disparity and the mounting issue of electronic waste, as emphasized by the EPIC Foundation.
Krishnan expressed, “It’s a moment of immense pride as we introduce an education tablet designed and inspired by India, poised to benefit a vast number of students. This initiative will ignite the passion among our youth to contribute to India’s manufacturing ethos, not just for our nation but also for the global community.”
Ajai Chowdhry, the Founder and Chairman of the EPIC Foundation, along with Arjun Malhotra, the Co-Founder, emphasized, “Our goal is to develop products with easily replaceable and upgradable components. Addressing concerns such as excessive repair costs, production of substandard goods, and obsolescence strategies is vital, as they contribute significantly to the mounting electronic waste issue. By creating repairable products, we aim to generate employment opportunities for repair engineers across India.”
