Suraj Saini, a student from a Hindi-medium government school in Kapren, in Rajasthan’s Bundi district, used to spend his school vacations working as a house painter in nearby villages. Today, he has secured a seat at a government medical college after scoring 583 marks in NEET.
Interestingly, Suraj’s path toward medicine wasn’t driven by a childhood dream of becoming a doctor. He shared that he had no awareness of the NEET exam until after his Class 12 exams, and that it was his aunt who first told him about it. Before that point, his main focus had simply been performing well in his Class 10 board exams.
Suraj scored 87% in his Class 10 boards and 85% in Class 12 at his government school. He described his board results as roughly in line with what he had expected.
