In a major reform aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will implement twice-a-year board exams for Class X starting in 2026. Additionally, the CBSE Global Curriculum will be introduced for 260 foreign-affiliated schools from the 2026-27 academic year.
The decision was discussed in a high-level meeting led by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, involving CBSE officials and representatives from NCERT, KVS, and NVS. The proposed draft schemes will be open for public consultation next Monday. This initiative aims to provide students with greater flexibility, allowing them to appear for board exams twice a year and retain their best score.
