As per India metrological department, IMD weather prediction, north India must brace for another cold wave as winters will peak around 15-16th Jan with minimum temperatures.
The Chandigarh government has passed orders to keep schools closed till the 21st of January, keeping in view the stern and fog spell the government has ordered all govt, govt aided & private schools to extend the winter holidays for upto 8th class, all higher classes will function as normal in view of the upcoming board exams.
Earlier, Haryana government had announced the same due to extreme cold conditions and have decided to stick with this decision and reopen schools only on the 21st of January.
