Kerala’s General Education Minister, V. Sivankutty, has declared May 25 to be a day of cleanup at all of the state’s schools. The statement was made by the minister during a gathering of youth, worker, and women’s organizations. He called on all organizations to take part in campaigns to promote sanitation.
Sivankutty said that the Elamakkara Government High Secondary School in Ernakulam would host the state-wide Praveshanolsavam (ceremony commemorating the start of the new academic year) for Higher Secondary Schools, which will be officially opened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Every school in the state will have Praveshanolsavams on the same day.
The minister also revealed that all Education Officers have received detailed rules about school admissions. He mentioned that these principles are currently being implemented.
