A Year of Momentum
Over the past year in particular, Dayananda Sagar University has significantly strengthened its position as a technology-driven institution through a series of strategic initiatives. At the forefront is its landmark collaboration with NVIDIA to establish what is envisioned as India’s first academic AI Factory, a state-of-the-art computing ecosystem powered by next-generation DGX Blackwell supercomputing infrastructure. Designed to support high-performance artificial intelligence research, the facility will drive work in generative AI, robotics, autonomous systems, and intelligent computing, while also serving as the foundation for DSU-GPT, the university’s proprietary large language model.
Complementing this initiative is the establishment of six industry-integrated Centres of Excellence across strategic domains including healthcare, engineering, defence, cybersecurity, semiconductors, smart mobility, and sustainability, alongside the DSU–Siemens Sustainability & Net Zero Collaboration.
The university’s growing national prominence was further reflected through its participation at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and recognition with the QS Impact Ranking IIRF 2026 Education Impact Award for Excellence in Employability and Placement Performance. It was also awarded a five-star rating under the KSURF ICARE framework for teaching and research quality.
Translating these initiatives into tangible student outcomes, DSU attracted more than 450 recruiters during its latest placement season, with leading organisations including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Bosch, Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, Mercedes-Benz, and ABB. Premachandra Sagar, Pro-Chancellor, emphasised that entrepreneurship at DSU is not viewed as an extracurricular pursuit, but as an integral part of the ecosystem. “Innovation flourishes when students are encouraged to experiment, embrace failure as a learning process, and transform ideas into meaningful solutions,” he observes. At the heart of this philosophy is the university’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), which provides aspiring founders with mentorship, industry guidance, networking opportunities, and platforms to validate and showcase their ideas.
Reflecting the diversity of innovation taking shape on campus, Dr. Sagar points to ventures that address challenges across multiple sectors. NAVIO is developing affordable hydrogen fuel cell technology for sustainable mobility, while ArogyaSync is creating wearable health-monitoring solutions that combine medical technology with consumer innovation. In the deep-tech space, PSYC Aerospace and Defence is working on multipurpose drone systems, and STELLARITE Aerospace is exploring next-generation propulsion through the development of a pumpless rocket engine.
Emerging technologies are equally well represented through ventures such as Maaya Technologies, which is advancing augmented and virtual reality solutions with integrated AR devices, and VeerNeo, which applies artificial intelligence to intelligent 3D design. Entrepreneurial thinking at DSU also extends to consumer innovation through startups such as Heat & Eat, reflecting the breadth of ideas being nurtured within the university. “Our objective is not simply to create startups,” Dr. Sagar adds, “but to cultivate innovators who can identify real-world challenges and build scalable solutions with lasting societal impact.”

As Dayananda Sagar University looks towards the next chapter of its journey, its aspirations extend well beyond institutional rankings or infrastructure milestones. Sharing the university’s long-term vision, Dr. D. Premachandra Sagar explains that by 2030, DSU aims to emerge as a benchmark for multidisciplinary, AI-enabled higher education. “Technology should not exist in isolation,” he remarks. “Its true potential lies in empowering every discipline to solve more complex, meaningful problems.”
