Govt issues notification on Education Service Selection Commission rules

The state government has released a notification on the rules of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC), which is responsible for recruiting teachers in the state, officials said on Thursday.

A government statement said that “it is mentioned under the rules that for the recruitment process of teachers and instructors, it will be mandatory to give minimum 40 per cent marks to the candidates invited for interview based on the written examination”.

“However, they can receive a maximum of 90 per cent marks in the interview,” it said.The statement said the state government has “established the commission to ensure fair and transparent selection of qualified and capable teachers and instructors in the state”. “This commission will conduct examinations for the recruitment of instructors of basic, secondary and higher education as well as vocational education and teachers of aided minority colleges in the state
