ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (a constituent of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Deemed-to-be University), a pioneer in management education has successfully adopted the four-year NEP model in its BBA and launched the four-year B.Com UG program beginning this academic year from August 2023.
Identifying itself with the NEP 2020, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad shares the holistic national view that the current generation of students should be transformed into well rounded individuals by guiding them to internalize a variety of disciplines including the sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, languages, along with professional, technical, and vocational subjects.
Prof. L S Ganesh, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, affirmed that “ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad has integrated the national agenda of reforms in education by emphasizing the unbounded value of traditional knowledge systems for diligently developing futuristic knowledge areas. The structure of the newly launched programmes effectively recognizes, identifies and fosters the unique capabilities of each student to promote her/his competencies and character. This should naturally result in holistic development of the student. The four-year program offers ample academic flexibility to students to choose their learning paths and programmes for embarking on careers of their choice that they would identify with great care and justification.”
Students joining the four-year BBA and B.Com programs at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad commencing from August 2023, will go through the new curriculum. Prof. Venu Gopal Rao, Director, ICFAI Business School, asserts that “ The decision to adopt the four-year curriculum and credit framework was taken after extensive and incisive discussions with relevant stakeholders – students, faculty, educationists, alumni and recruiters. The proposal received overwhelming support from all quarters. The newly launched programmes will facilitate students to go through courses classified as major, minor, interdisciplinary, ability enhancement, skill enhancement and value added as proposed in the NEP.”
