Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, the district collector for Chennai, announced a school holiday on November 12 due to the coastal area of Tamil Nadu experiencing significant rains. A yellow alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for a number of districts. According to sources, the alerts are scheduled for 12 districts on November 12, 17 districts on November 13, 27 districts on November 14, and 25 districts on November 15.
In Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Villuppuram districts, Puducherry, and Karaikal region, IMD predicts that there may be isolated areas of heavy rain today.
