In a move aimed at bringing more fairness and clarity to the school admission process, the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of Karnataka, has issued a firm directive to all private aided and unaided schools across curricula for the 2025–26 academic year.
The department stressed the importance of transparent, inclusive, and rule-compliant admissions, warning institutions of strict consequences for violations. To protect the rights of students and parents, schools are now mandated to publicly display detailed information—including admission timelines, available seats per class, medium of instruction, and fee structures—on notice boards, their official websites, the SATS portal, and in prospectuses.
Additionally, schools must clearly outline their admission criteria and any applicable extra charges. These steps are part of a larger initiative to eliminate arbitrary practices and ensure equity in education access. Regular audits and inspections will be carried out to guarantee full adherence to these regulations.
