According to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, the administration of the state will shortly create a regulation requiring corporations in the States to allocate their CSR funds to education.
“We are planning a policy wherein corporates will be mandated to direct their CSR funds to education this year,” he remarked on August 3 at the Bangalore Chamber of sector and Commerce’s (BCIC) 47th Annual General Meeting, addressing representatives of the sector.
According to him, this was done to solve the employment issue.
We are urging corporations to come forward and accept these schools, and we are also creating Karnataka model schools. Only in the presence of employers, or the industry, can jobs be generated, he said.
