Kashmir Schools and Colleges Reopen After Protests

Educational institutions in Kashmir resumed operations on Monday following a nearly week-long closure sparked by protests over the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a US-Israel airstrike.

The shutdown began last Monday amid widespread unrest across the Valley after Khamenei’s killing on February 28. Officials confirmed that schools, colleges, and higher education centers returned to normal schedules, with students arriving in uniforms for morning classes.

Secondary schools and higher education facilities had restarted on February 23 post-winter break, while primary and middle schools, slated to reopen March 2, faced delays due to the demonstrations. Authorities now anticipate a full return to regular academic routines region-wide.
