In a strategic move to foster drone research and innovation, the University of Ladakh is set to establish a cutting-edge drone research centre. On Thursday, Vice Chancellor Saket Kushwaha visited the Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) at Anna University—renowned for its pioneering work in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) research—to lay the groundwork for this initiative.
During his visit, Kushwaha met with MIT Dean K. Ravichandran and K. Senthil Kumar, Director of the Centre for Aerospace Research (CASR), to initiate a collaborative partnership. As part of the agreement, MIT will support the University of Ladakh through knowledge sharing and technical assistance in establishing drone manufacturing facilities and pilot training programs.
This collaboration is expected to significantly boost UAV capabilities and innovation in the Ladakh region.
