According to the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the number of BTech seats accessible nationwide has reached an astounding eight-year high following years of decline.
The authorized intake for undergraduate engineering and technology programs for the academic year 2024–25 was 14.90 lakh, up at least 18.84% from 12.54 lakh in the academic year 2021–2022, according to a recent report in The Indian Express that cited AICTE.
According to the AICTE study, the initial increase, which was about 2% in the 2022–2023 academic year (12.74 lakh seats), was followed by a 5% increase in 2023–2024 (13.50 lakh seats).
