As the Director of Finance for the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational (SDME) Society, Mr. Nischal D plays a critical role in the strategic governance of one of India’s most expansive educational and social service networks. A member of the younger generation of the Pergade dynasty, he is responsible for the financial health and fiscal oversight of 56 institutions, ensuring that the society’s mission of providing accessible, value-based education remains economically sustainable in a modern landscape.
Working from the central management unit in Ujire, he oversees the complex budgetary requirements of a diverse portfolio that includes everything from primary schools to top-tier medical and engineering colleges. His role is essential in ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently to support both institutional growth and the philanthropic initiatives, such as free education and subsidized healthcare, that are hallmarks of the Dharmasthala tradition.
Beyond his duties with the educational society, Nischal D serves on the governing boards of several specialized units, including the SDM Ayurveda Hospital and Research Centre in Udupi. In these capacities, he helps steer the financial strategy for research and development, supporting the integration of traditional healing sciences with contemporary medical standards.
