According to information obtained by News18, the National evaluation and accrediting Council (NAAC) plans to introduce its new “binary accreditation” system in June, replacing the multiple-grading evaluation now used by colleges and universities throughout India.
One of the main changes to be carried out by the accrediting authority that assigns national rankings to schools and universities based on a range of factors, including educational quality, is binary accreditation. The binary system will place more emphasis on actions, results, and effects than it will on the institutional inputs alone.
“By the end of June, the binary accreditation system will be implemented. On it, nine committees are at work. Following that, this will be the basis for evaluating any upcoming applications for accreditation, according to Anil Sahasrabudhe, head of the NAAC Executive Committee.
